Understanding Your Rights &
Navigating the IEP Process
The special education process can feel overwhelming — especially when your child has visual or multisensory needs that many schools don’t have experience with. Families are often expected to learn a new language of assessments, eligibility terms, goals, and service delivery, all while advocating for their child’s access and well-being.
A strong foundation begins with a quality assessment that clearly identifies your child’s visual functioning, sensory processing, learning needs, and access supports. From there, we work together to navigate the IEP meeting with confidence, ensuring that your child’s strengths are recognized and their needs are accurately reflected in goals, accommodations, services, and placement decisions.
Advocacy doesn’t end at the meeting table. I support families and educational teams with classroom implementation, ongoing communication, and real-world problem-solving — because meaningful access happens in day-to-day learning, not just in written plans.
You don’t have to do this alone. I’m here to walk with you, every step of the way.
